About AtPlace

AtPlace is a map of where you have been.

Not a review site, not a booking site. A map. You put a pin where you stood, add a photograph and a line about it, and over the years the map fills in — cities, coasts, mountains, the places that were worth the journey. Group them into trips. Follow people whose maps you like. Message them when you are heading somewhere they have been.

Two kinds of places

Places people add. Every pin on somebody's map is a place they were actually at, with their own photograph. Public places appear on their profile; the best of them are sent to the shared Explore map, where anyone can add a photograph of their own. The person who added a place looks after it — its name, its description, its cover photograph — for as long as they want to. When they step away, it passes to whoever cared enough to photograph it.

Places we curate. Alongside people's places, AtPlace keeps a catalogue of a couple of thousand places worth knowing about — from the obvious to the obscure — each with the best time to visit and a note on how long to give it. They are there so a new map is never empty and a new trip never starts from nothing.

Your live map

Every account has a live map: one link, no app, no sign-in needed to open it. It shows your public places, your trips and your numbers — places, countries, years — and it updates on its own as you add more. Put it in a bio, send it to a friend, print it on a card. It is the part of AtPlace you can give away.

What AtPlace is not

There is no advertising, and your data is not for sale. What you add stays yours. What you make private stays private. The rules are written down and the same for everyone, including us.

Who makes it

AtPlace is built in Belgrade, Serbia by Stefan Stojanovic. The map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors; photographs of curated places come from Wikimedia Commons under their free licences.
